Artist Statement for the Sleeping in the Wind Collection

My work explores the fragile boundary between the human self and nature, reflecting the existential anxiety of modern life. Through human figures embracing animals or elements like wind and clouds, I depict our symbolic and emotional bonds with nature. These transitional states speak to the tension between belonging and isolation. Rooted in personal experience, my paintings suggest that reconnecting with nature is a way to rediscover presence—being fully here, now. Nature is not a passive setting but a force that invites us into deeper awareness, reminding us of our place in a shared, ever-shifting existence.
